Seemed like the real deal.

I love the show, "The Deadliest Catch," and Phil was my favorite captain. Watching his health decline over the past two seasons was as dramatic and scary as anything the Bering Sea through at him. My deepest sympathy to his family and his friends.

I Remember...

Favorite Moment

During the season that Phil has hurt and went back to port to have his chest x-rayed. The doc's were worried that there was a spot on his lung and he went outside for a call back to the boat. First it was endearing that he was outside the hospital making a phone call in one of those thin hospital gowns. But even better was that while he was breaking the news, he was having a smoke. Laugh with irony if you have never smoked... smile knowingly if you ever have.
